MY FAVORITE FLOWERS FOR A WHIMSICAL SPRING WEDDING

Is anyone else tired of seeing the same wedding flowers produced over and over? Are you looking for something unique and garden inspired for your day? Below are nine of my favorite “filler” flowers to use for my spring weddings. Spring brings us such delicate, sensual earthly delights - it just might be my favorite season for flowers!

DELICATE & SWEET

pansies/violas - their little faces are so sweet, and with such a large range of colors, your florist is sure to find one to compliment your palette.

muscari - it is rare to find a true blue flower, but this cutie fits the bill. they are small and short stemmed, but i love them bunched together in bud vases or a pop of blue in bouquets.

phlox - so delicate and ethereal - the perfect foundation for arrangements.

STRUCTURAL & SHAPELY

foxglove - these spikes give great shape to arrangements and bouquets, and their freckled throats are so magical.

agrostemma - they have long sweeping stems, swirly buds, and bobbing pure white heads. Flecked with gray and sometimes a touch of blue pollen, these are special gems.

sweet pea - the blossoms are delicate, ruffly, and very fragrant. my favorite part of these springtime blooms, however, are the stems, foliage, and curlicues!

HAPPY & CUTE

icelandic poppy - these large-faced beauties have a very strong lemon candy smell to compliment their crinkled silk petals.

butterfly ranunculus - the more delicate and opened faced ranunculus. they come in a large range of colors, but the burnt orange color is different and unique for spring.

daffodil - everyone loves daffodils for spring, but have you seen all the colors and shapes they come in? i personally love the simplicity of the ‘pink charm’ variety, but there are some truly spectacular double daffodils such as ‘replete’.

Would you use any of these for your spring wedding? Did I forget any of your favorites?
